Afghanistan
- They received Independence on August 19, 1919.
- Afghanistan was under the British Empire before they had their own independence. They had to go to three different wars in order to have independence.

Mexico
- Mexico became independent September 16, 1810
- For them to win their independence during the war it took Mexico eleven years. Spain tried to literally just tried to takeover Mexico and parts of the United States out west. The Battle of Monte de las Cruces was a good win for Mexico.

United Kingdom
- Declared independence April 12, 1927
- The United Kingdom was trying to get as much territory as they could. Now it just owns Great Britain and Northern Ireland. During the interwar period the United Kingdom didn't get all the territory they want in the early 1900's.

- Venezuela felt neglected by Spain and thought they weren't an important country. They want to start new and become an independent country. They went to war in 1812 and lost and went for the second republic in 1813 and finally received independence.

- Declared independence on September 23, 1932
- Before Independence there were two separate kingdoms and they were Hejaz and Nejd. They were trying to expand the empire into other parts in the middle east but they could only get the land they already owned.
Brazil
- Brazil declared its independence from Portugal on September 7, 1822.
- The Portuguese were the first European settlers to arrive in the area, led by adventurous Pedro Cabral, who began the colonial period in 1500.

France
- France always had independence, but other armies from different nations would come around and take control of the whole contrie.
- France was part of the Celtic territory known as Gaul or Gallia.
- Germanic people who conquered the area during the 5th century, at the time of the fall of the Western Roman Empire. It became a separate country in the 9th century.
Germany
- On January 18, 1871, Otto von Bismarck, the Minister-President of Prussia, unified independent German states into a nation-state.

India
- 26 January 1950, India became a Republic
- , India was part of the British Empire; but by the end of 1947, India had achieved independence.

Iran
United States
Declared independence on July 4, 1776
From the 1500s through the 1700s, they were settled and colonized by the Spanish, British, French, Dutch, Portuguese, and other European nations. The original thirteen colonies were held by Great Britain until the Revolutionary War, after which they became the first thirteen states. There are now 50 states in the United States. The United States is considered the last true superpower, with the world's largest military and the world's largest economy.
Israel
Israel became an independent state on May 14, 1948
Following World War Two, the newly-formed United Nations drafted a treaty dividing up some of Palestine's land. They established an independent Arab state and an independent Jewish state. Many Jews emigrated to the new nation of Israel post WWII. Creation of this new Jewish state was not universally accepted by Arabs, even though Israel was officially admitted to the UN on May 11, 1949. There is still controversy surrounding Israel's very existence in the Middle East.
China
China's official date of independence is October 1, 1949.
China is one of the world's oldest civilizations. As long ago as 221 BC, China was unified as a nation during the Qin dynasty. They formed a republic on January 1, 1912. The current Communist government, officially called the People's Republic of China, was formed in 1949.
